I am surprised that that the Bad Monkey gets rave reviews over the Tone Driver myself. I have owned both, and the Tone Driver has much more versitility and can cop the same sounds the limited Bad Monkey can.

First off, is the Amp Sim supposed to be an improvement over the normal out for running into a guitar amp? I was comparing the bad monkey to my maxon OD-9. To make the sound transparent, clear, and "open sounding", you will need to remove the capacitor located at C5. After this, your Digitech Bad Monkey will sound better than a tube screamer.

The Bad Monkey was definitely a better sound through my blues junior , and also had more tonal control. I paid £20 from an ebay auction around 2 years ago .
