How are fusion and fission different
WebThere are two known sets of fusion reactions by which stars convert hydrogen to helium. Stars with mass like that of sun and less use the proton-proton chain reaction while Stars that are bigger than sun use CNO (carbon-nitrogen-oxygen) cycle. In nuclear bombs, the process we use is Fission and is different from Fusion which is happening in stars. WebNuclear Fusion/Fission Reactors. Nuclear Fusion is: A heavier atom is formed when two light atomic nuclei’s (e.g. hydrogen-1 & hydrogen-2 )are fused together which only happens when a substantial blow of energy is released and then a larger and heavier nuclei is created ( e.g. helium-3.) E.g. when sun and stars release energy.
