WebAug 10, 2012 · I worked underground at both Makham 1 & 4 in the early '70s, and lived nearby in Clowne until 5 years ago. Recently went with my family to Hardwick Hall. We picked up my son & his wife at New Whittington, and went via the new Staveley by-pass, over the old Ireland and Markham sites and on to the M1 at the new Jct 29A. http://disused-stations.org.uk/s/staveley_town/index.shtml
